Geocache Description:

History is the study of the past, particularly the written record and oral traditions passed down from generation to generation verbally. New technology, such as photography, sound recording, and motion pictures now complement the written word in the historical record. History is a field of research producing a continuous narrative and a systematic analysis of past events of importance to the human race.

Stage One: Find the historic marker. Locate the date on the marker and with the last three numbers of the year do the following:

N 36 19.( last three numbers of the year minus 679. This will give you the final North coordinates.)

W 082 21.( the last three numbers of the year and the subtract 230. This will give you the final West coordinates.)

Coordinates were a bit bouncy because of the building here.
