This cache has been archived.

Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache and because the Cache Owner has not been online since June 2015. If the owner would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

Traditional cache located in Eagle River, Alaska

From the silty waters of its Class II/III namesake, to the beautiful vista atop Mt. Baldy, to the Nature Center, to the dozens of trailheads, to Iditarod Checkpoint #1, to the majestic Chugach, to the chimes at St. Andrews, to the Scottish Highland Games, to the Bear Paw festival, to Chicken Parmesan and Greek salad at Piccolino’s, to sipping a foamy latte while curled up with a good book at Jitters, there’s no doubt about it – EAGLE RIVER ROCKS!!! We have dedicated this cache to our beloved home. We couldn’t think of a better place for the cache than nearby where much of our household income is spent not to mention the hours of perusing the aisles, especially sporting goods! We do miss the employee discount since our dear daughter and sister left for college though... The cache container is small and contains a logbook and pencil and is only big enough for small trade items and TBs. It is also very devilishly camouflaged, which is why we chose a difficulty rating of 3.0. There is some steep terrain as well, but you don’t have to climb very far. Please wear appropriate footwear with ankle support. It may be slippery if it is wet or covered with snow. Please be careful not to disturb the foliage and watch out for heavy muggle traffic in the area. We had an EPE of 14 feet the day we hid the cache, so if someone logs more accurate cords please let us know. FTF gets their choice of a light-up carabiner or 2003 Bear Paw pin. In order to count this as a find in addition to finding the cache we ask that that you post at least one thing you love about Eagle River in your log. Happy caching and ROCK on! Congrats to AKMICP on the FTF!
