Geocache Description:

This cache is located on private property, but the owner does not mind geocachers. Feel free to climb through the fence when the gate is locked. Quite easy as there is a designated opening for climbing through.

This farm has been in the Roux family for 4 generations. It was bought by Paul Jacobus Roux the 7th from distant relatives in the 1900s. He was born and grew up on the neighbouring farm, Vredenburg, now Vredenheim. His son, Paul Jacobus the 8th, established the farm as a wine grape producer for Eersterivier Wine Cellar. Currently his grandson and his children are the owners of the farm.
Also, when you find the cache, go up the hill to the dam for a nice view of the mountains as well as Van Ryn Brandy Cellar. Although Jan van Ryn's Wine and Brandy Company was established in 1845, it was another 60 year before the Van Ryn Distillery and Brandy Cellar found its current home at Vlottenburg.

In the original cache the following was put in:
CD with photos taken by Rouxenator
disposable razor for lady
hand cream
lavender sachet from our wedding, handmade by Kieterkat
bubbles
MacDonald's toy
porcupine thingy sponsored by the mother-in-law
empty perfume bottle (if you want to smell stunning)
wire heart with beads made by Kieterkat
yellow hair elastic
purple hair elastic
coaster for Paul
heart necklace
TB HHX8Q1 and geocoin CRYZAH (Compass Rose)
log book and pen as well as please read.

Happy caching!
