This cache is located in the vast Mojave desert, just outside
the town of Mojave itself.
Once intended as a budding, vital development, this lonely place
begs for visitors. Depending upon where you are in the area, you
can see the trains run, peer at the mothballed jets at the Mojave
Airport and watch the propellers on the hills spin. There are some
other interesting artifacts here, including a fenced lot that has
what's left of a structure and a bathtub-sized swimming pool. Now
that's LIVING!
You're looking for a camo-painted plastic Folger's can, hidden
in typical desert style. Please try to keep some dead brush
on/around the container when you put it back.
Initial contents are:
- Dark Star DVD (Dan O'Bannon's [Alien] first film)
- Dryer Balls
- LED nightlight
- Geocoin (trackable at calif.geocoin.net)
- Glow-in-the-dark stars
- Pencil sharpener
- Toy truck
- Kazoo
- Ugly refrigerator magnet
- Pacific Stereo sticker
This is a spot in the middle of the desert, so bring water along
with you. And do be careful about the local critters. A snake bite
is a bad (and expensive) way to end a delightful day of
caching!
One other thing. The road that leads past this place is a
divided highway, with a painted simulated barrier. If you are
approaching from the north, it is ILLEGAL to turn into or across
that barrier. If the CHP sees you (they have an office in Mojave,
so they're around) do that, THEY WILL CITE. You will need to
proceed south and turn around where allowed. Be safe.
