The October meeting will be on the 3rd Saturday of the month:
October 20, 2007 at 11:30AM, 1 week later than normal, so as to not
conflict with Fall Fest.
September 22, 2001 - A couple of the first few caches I went
after had been removed by a park ranger.
I didn't know this till later but had a feeling this might be
the park policy. A park ranger at the visitors center told me that
a cache placed in the park would be considered litter and removed
if found. Yesterday, two Oklahoma cache logs, Comanche
Stash and Corkscrew,
stated that the "Cache was removed by the US Fish and Wildlife
Service."
This prompts me to propose a meeting of Oklahoma geocachers. I
think it would be fun to:
- Meet and talk to other geocachers.
- Get ideas on finding and placing caches.
And on a more serious note:
- Organize a group that could promote geocaching in the state as
a legitimate sport.
- Through this organization, speak with one voice to park
officials to help promote the sport in city, county, state and
federal parks within our state (before park rangers steal all the
caches).
Everyone is invited, even if you are just interested in geocaching,
so come out and join the fun.
