Surfer Joe: pickleflipper,

If you can fix or verify that this cache is still in place it can be easily unarchived provided the location is still available and still meets the cache hiding guidelines. For now I am going to archive it. Feel free to contact me through my profile linked below if you fix it.

NOTE: If you have any questions, do not reply directly to this email. Instead, send me an email via my geocaching.com profile. Please include a link to the cache in question so I will know which cache it is regarding.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Fillmore County's Masonic Park!

Home of a spectacular rock wall, trout fishing and a cache worth every effort to get to it and to find it! Hint! Find and stay on County Road 38!

A little bit about the geography of the area:

Encompassing more than 24,000 square miles in the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois, the Driftless Area is a national treasure. Its distinctive topography, deep caves and springs, and vast number of coldwater streams make the region unique. Bypassed by the last continental glacier, which flattened Midwestern landscapes and left behind large deposits of soil and rock, it has been described as, “a fragment of the past; a small piece of what once was.”

It is evident that the area where this cache is hidden is part of the Driftless Area. The coordinates will not take you to the exact cache, but will take you to the entrance where the cache is located. Cache entrance is about 10-15 feet off the ground, and although spelunking gear probably won't be neccessary, good climbing skills will come in handy. Once inside, it is time to put the GPS away (because there will be no signal) and use your geo-logic to find the hiding spot – you will be looking for a fairly well hidden .30 cal ammo box.

The terrain leading to this cache may be very difficult or impossible for young children or elderly people. I do not recommend searching for this cache when it is icy out or when terrain may be slick due to rainfall. Because of the difficulty to retrieve this cache, you will be rewarded by the good selection of swag in the cache. I ask that you please do your best to follow the guideline of TRADE UP, OR TRADE EVEN – to keep the cache enjoyable and rewarding for others.

This is the second cache I have hidden in this area. The first one had to be archived due to extensive flooding (to view that cache go to: Masonic Park). I have always enjoyed this area, and definitely thought it needed another cache. I hope you enjoy yourself!

Park hours are 5AM-11PM. A flashlight isn't a requirement, but it can come in handy for this hide. A camera IS a requirement. You'll want a few pictures of your fun adventure!
