Hill Cliffe Traditional Cache
deejay44: It is with regret that we are closing this one down. It used to be a kissing gate but that went a while ago so not as easy to get to. The owners of the horses have decided to make the area a place where the dump the horse poo so that was the last straw.
Thanks to all the finders.

Great views over Warrington and surrounding areas. Easy parking.
The cache is a 35mm film canister. Please take a pen or pencil to log your details because there isn't one with the cache. Also please ensure cache is well hidden. This path can get busy with dog walkers so stealth may be required.
Fox Covert Cemetery is located at the top of Hill Cliffe offering panoramic views of Warrington. You can see Fiddlers Ferry Power Station to the left, Billinge Hill, Warrington Parish Church (St Elphins) with it’s 281ft steeple (the 3rd tallest in England) and Winter Hill over to the right. The 4.7 hectare cemetery contains over 4,000 graves. Its features include ornamental seating areas and a baby burial garden. In addition to burial services the cemetery is popular with the general public and walkers both as a respite area and to enjoy views of Warrington. Please note cache site NOT accessible from cemetery.
After taking in the views you can take a walk along the pathway (cache along here) to Walton Hall (1m). Walton Hall Gardens was originally part of a much larger country estate purchased in 1812 by the Greenall family, famous for their success in the brewing industry. Today it is the ideal place for a family day out with spacious lawns, picnic areas, play area, children's zoo, heritage centre and outdoor games. The mature parkland and ornamental gardens remain beautiful throughout the year with trees and shrubs from all over the world.
New paths laid so no more muddy boots and push chair friendly
Well done to PhilPamAndRob FTF
