Citizenship in the Community is one of the merit badges that are
required for Eagle Scouts. In the process of earning this badge,
the Scouts learn about their rights and responsibilities in their
local communities. The full list of requirements for this badge are
available
here; for the purposes of this cache, the relevant requirement
is #2, "Do the following: (a) On a map of your community, locate
and point out the following: ... (3) Historical or other
interesting points." This cache is placed near an important
historical location in Hooksett; please take the time while you're
here to look around, read the markers and think about the many
generations of local residents who are represented here. Please be
respectful of the setting. There is plenty of parking along the
road (except in winter), please don't drive in to this location.
While there are no signs prohibiting it, I wouldn't recommend night
caching; I expect the neighbors and the local PD would take a
dim view of it.
The cache is a small lock-n-lock; contents start off with a
selection of small trinkets, including a collectable "Hooksett 2002
- The Pinnacle" pin that I received directly from a Hooksett
legend, Arthur "Bud" Locke, owner of the landmark Pinnacle.
FTF: #1 Batman! Congrats!
