This cache is 16 km from the traffic circle in Dawson Creek B.C. on the Spirit River highway #49.About 100 meters past the "Welcome to Alberta" sign just across the BC/Alta border, turn right (EAST) and go 3.8 km. You will arrive at an old gravel pitt. On the hill above the gravel pitt you will have a nice view of the valley to the south. Just as you enter the pitt on the high road there is a trail going up to the top. You should be able to get most of the way up with a car but the last 30 meters or so is quite steep unless you have a 4x4 but it would be good for you to walk anyway. As you look over the valley to the south the cache is just a little way behind you. It's a large clear jar with a red lid and is full of goodies and a nice first to find. There is a pen in the jar but I forgot to put a pencil in with the log book so FTF might want to bring one for me.
