Geocache Description:

Wilderness Gateway

This has to be one of the most beautiful stretches of Highway in the lower 48. And this campground is the biggest and best outfitted one on the river. It is also the only one that is on the other side of the river from the Highway, making it the most peaceful. It is called Gateway because of the trail heads that are here leading up into the lake basins and hot springs that are major attractions to those who are fit enough for the climb up out of the canyon.

My Garmin usually will average coords. to under 10 feet, which with a walk back test is spot on. This canyon has given me fits before and this cache is no exception. Today 12.5 feet was the best average I could get and I think the unit was bragging itself up to claim it was that close. Walk back check showed closer to a 15 foot variation. Try as I might it was the best I could get, though I am certain the hint will get you there if you want to use it. If you are certain you have better coords please drop me a note. I will try for better on my next pass as well. I placed this on the highway side of the bridge to extend its season and allow for a more cache and dash type hunt. You are looking for a half gallon Lock-n-Lock, $5 Starbucks card for FTF.
