Last fall, I placed a small cache here named
Upper Walnut Creek. The area was marginal for a cache on the
ground at that time (due to being in the creek's floodplain) and a
few heavy rains in the six months since then have altered the area
and really made it unsuitable for a cache on the ground, so I
replaced the small container with a bison tube a few feet away.
I thought about keeping it as the same cache, but then
remembered a couple caches that I had found and was unable to help
future searchers find because the container and location had
changed since I found it.
To me, a different type of container hidden in a different way
really seems like a different cache, so I decided to archive the
old one and make this a new cache. (Good news for the 22 people
that logged finds on Upper Walnut Creek - you can come find the new
one and get another smiley!)
You're looking for a bison tube. You will need to go a short
distance into the woods. If it's rained recently, the ground will
likely be muddy and might even have some puddles, so you might want
to wear old shoes. If you choose your approach carefully though,
you might be able to stay "above the mud".
