INFO UPDATE!!! 5/11/2008
We're going to meet,snack,& conga...for only 15 minutes!
This is part of a world wide event organized by San Diego
geocachers
iTrax and FoxTail, to have geocachers at locations around the
world simultaneously have this event!!
COME EARLY TO FIND PARKING. Parking can be difficult to find at
around lunch time. If you can't find parking you might miss the
event!
Here's the Plan
We ask you to prefill out a log sheet for participation ahead of
time with your caching name on it. If you go and look at the
pictures for this event there is a pirate log sheet you can print
up or if ya don't wanna, please use a 3x5 index card as your log
sheet sign in., and bring with you (but don't go and lose it!!) At
the event start just drop it in the designated collection box which
will be Capt Biggin's treasure chest,and please print your name
legibly as this is also your raffle ticket for a prize!!
The Captain would like to see you bring out your inner pirate side
to the event by finding and bring a pirate hat and eye patch to
wear in the conga line if you want too!!(but keep it hidden till
1pm please)
12:30 - 12:59 AM Wait patiently nearby, trying not to look
conspicuous, just stroll around the area and do some window
shoping!!
1:00pm EST. (as determined by your GPS clock) The Capatin will walk
up and open his treasure chest and blow a whistle, this is the
signal the event has officially begun! Converge on over to The
Captain and drop in your log sheet in to the treasure chest!!
1:05 meal time! (Hershey Candies, one per cacher please)
1:06-1:11 eveyone line up and start a pirate conga line around
ground zero
1:12pm-1:14pm We will call out 2 raffle winners which will be for
FTF and LASF of this event and gather for a group photo.
1:15 Bam!! The treasure chest is closed and we all LEAVE the area
leaving muggles wondering "What did I just see?..err... What the
heck just happened?!
Only those participants whose names appear on the log sheets that
are in the closed chest will be counted as attended.
Note: Although participants are welcome to get together
afterthe event, the event will officially be over at 1:15.
The more people who attend, the more unusual it will look,
especially to muggles! That's all part of the fun of a Flash Mob
Event! Please be sure to log a "will attend" so we know how much
lunch to bring. Thanks!!
If you look up Thursday, April 24, 2008 cache
logs/notes- there will be one with a pirate style log sheet for you
to print up and bring with with you as your log
sheet!!
