Geocache Description:

It's on a bus route (believe it or not), so park well in on the lane or gate. Follow the rough path VERY VERY carefully at first. Lots of dead elm trees and precipitous drops to the right. It's a medium sized cache with log and swaps. Do TAKE CARE.

Definitely not a place for a night visit, or dogs, or children due to the precipitous vertical drops in places. The cache is well away from these near above a big Sycamore, overhung by an elder and next to a big and long moss covered tree trunk.

A very large and very old lime kiln sits next to the limestone quarries - long abandoned. A lot of dumping at the far end, but I haven't sent you in that direction.

The lane is locally known as 'Reek Street' after the stink of all that poor quality coal that was used. A lot of limestone quarries are in these parts and a marble quarry was hereabouts in the olden days! Broadstone Castle is gone - they built the farm from it. Speir's School grounds are worth a visit - see 'Speir's School Wiki' for info about the whole area. The Gateside Inn is a nice wee tavern for the tired and thirsty.
