Geocache Description:

Just make sure you pull off the road as far as possible, easy access to the site as the GPS indicates.

The Small cache is hidden fairly close to the road, at the closest structure that provided a possible hiding place.

The site brings you to the Qwa-Qwa National park, adjacent to Goldengate National Park. The cache is located along the R712 route through the parks with some of most spectacular sand stone formations. This is one of the rare sites in South Africa that the mountains become even more beautiful and colorful during dryer seasons. The colorization of the different grass fields caused by the change in altitude and climate change in the valleys. This is partly where the name “Golden Gate” originated from.
As in most mountain series peaks are named after some kind of formation that the mountain looks similar to. (And mostly from a certain angle) Well this rock formation looks like a ship from almost any angle. In some way it very much looks like the stranded Noah’s Arc.
