Santa Fe Lake is privately owned by the City of Augusta. There is a $4 day fee. The fees pay for keeping the park open. If you don't pay for a pass, you may end up with a ticket, as the park is patrolled..so bring along a geocache to hide in the park, (.1 from the others though or you may be making a trip back out to get it), bring along a picnic lunch, or just do some hiking, or fishing, or throw the frisbee, or something.
This is a rehide of a rehide of the original "Santa Fe Scrambler". It had been archieved..and I hadta to bring it back again..after all, it was the 4th geocache that I found..(9-3-2001).
The new geocache is located close to where the original was hidden. The area that the geocache is hidden in is pretty rugged. There is some Poison Ivy around, spiders, ticks, and probably some of those slithery things, and other varmits.
This cache requires some climbing, so dress accordingly. The area may not be available during real wet times..
The geocache is a camoed-ammobox filled with a geocache-infosheet, logbook, pens, pencils, and a sack-o-swag.
Please rehide the cache well as there are alot of hikers out and about at times.
