A "John Masser Memorial" Geocache . . .
The late Banksia777 placed this geocache to provide some magnificent views out over the Grose Valley. It's well worth the effort to take this longish walk along the edge of the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park. Trail isn't really that difficult but, as always, watch your step.
GZ is actually located just a smidgin outside the boundary of the National Park.
You can reach this geocache by following the well-marked track for about 2 kilometres from Pulpit Rock. (It’s about the same distance to GZ from Govetts Leap, but be prepared for lots of steps if you’re starting from there.)
Take note of the weather conditions when you set out, because it can be very cold during the winter months and, if raining, the track has very wet/muddy sections.
The one litre clip-lock container is within 4-5 metres of the the main track. There are several ways to 'get to it' but take a look around for the best one. Some slight scrambling will be required . . .
It’s just out of eyesight of the muggles on the track, but stealth may still be required because this is a popular track. You'll find the usual log book and some swaps.
Banksia777 warns: "CAUTION! there are cliffs about around the GZ, so watch the young ones!"
This is always good advice when geocaching in the Blue Mountains.
Thanks to our departed friend Banksia777 for establishing this geocache.
