Geocache Description:

Regarding terrain, hunting this cache is suitable for people of all ages, including children as long as they are closely supervised by an adult, because of the river.

The Fish Screen Shop Cache By Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Since 1905 Oregon law has required water irrigators to protect fish with screens geared at keeping fish within the rivers and out of irrigation canals. To assist with this, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has operated screen shops to build screens throughout Oregon for over 40 years. The Dalles Screen Shop has been in this location for over 8 years and has built and installed well over 150 screens. We recommend parking in the ODFW lot or the trailhead lot while searching for this geocache. The cache should be of interest to people of all ages and your journey to this cache will be very pleasant with superb views of the Columbia River. While at the cache, you will learn what happens within the building in front of you. The cache is an ammo box placed within a larger box. Please be sure to hide the cache as good as or better than you found it. Also, it would be a good idea to carry water with you; it does get hot in The Dalles! Please be careful while next to the river.
