Water Lily Cache II
Pond close to Tel Afek / the source of the Yarkon river.
Coming from road 483 (into the direction of Petakh Tikwah), turn into the dirt road after the Mekoroth water installation (not to be confused with the Mekoroth visitors center, situated in the opposite direction). Follow the trail until it splits. Turn east and walk alongside the rail road. Bend your head when a train passes.
Continue walking about 100 meters until you see the sign: “Water Lily Pond” pointing south and you are already at a few meters distance from the pond.
A couple of objects deserve your attention on the way.
First of all you will pass next to a spring (consider taking dry clothes with you). After a refreshing dive, continue to the “fill box” as the Israelis call it. I suppose it should be “pill box” according to the shape of the former British watch tower J.
The next interesting object you should find is the cache (Let ‘s not forget why we are actually here).
I had average to poor accuracy because of the metal construction, so do not take the coords too seriously and take the spoiler with you. Enjoy!
During this winter the trail was accessible. Next winter you will have to check in advance if you can pass here in order to get to the cache.
Tip: There is no exit from the main trail into western direction after the pill box.
