A short, arduous climb through forested dunes. For your efforts, you'll find a well-stocked, cammo'd Lock n' Lock, hidden in a traditional manner, a great view, and perhaps a brief respite from the pressures of the world!
Running from the law? Your boss? Your significant other? The demons in your head?! Take sanctuary on a high dune overlooking Lake Macatawa! Located in Sanctuary Woods Preserve, this park occupies approximately 40 acres in the northwestern corner of Laketown Township off 66th Street. The park is open from 6:00 am to dusk and features well-developed trails through a back dune forest, great views of Lakes Macatawa and Michigan, a former interurban bridge, bird-watching, abundant wildlife, and a couple of other caches. What more do ya want?
Maybe a little help getting up those stairs?
It's only 3/10 of a mile, but it's 170 steps, and a change of 120' in elevation. No excessive bushwacking required, the cache is less than 20' from the trail.
Placed & maintained by a member of Michigan Geocaching Organization!
