Lake Allom Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache is placed on the viewing structure for Lake Allom (or turtle lake if you have small children). The path from the carpark near by is reasonably easy, with only a few tree roots over the path and stairs to navigate. The terrain is rated as quite high as you'll need a 4WD to navigate Fraser Island and get to this cache.
Lake Allom is a great place to take kids to on Fraser Island. Although it's not good for swimming like other lakes on Fraser, the geokids will love watching the turtles that float up to the viewing platform (expecting food from tourists, but i'm pretty sure you're not supposed to feed them).
The cache is an ammo box - please ensure it has enough debris on it to keep it hidden.
You do not need to leave the track to find this cache.
