Geocache Description:

The cache, a small click-lock plastic container is placed on the edge of Bircle Church Wood close to St John the Baptist Parish Church (built 1845). The site is accessible 24/7, but remember that the church is in regular use. Please respect the peace and quiet of the location.

Parking is available on the nearby pub car park.

Bircle (or Birtle as it’s marked on some maps) was once a thriving farming community. The quarry behind the church provided stone for the walls and buildings. As usual the Church was the focal point of the community, together with the pub opposite. There was also a school nearby – see if you can spot it.
