Ballyvoony Cove near Stradbally, County Waterford. Roadside location accessible at all times.
The cove is approximately 1km east of Stradbally and 7km west of Bunmahon on the coast road.
There is much wildlife to be seen in this area. Whales, porpoises etc are regularly spotted off this coast. A leatherbacked turtle was seen from here in March. There is much birdlife also, with choughs in residence and cormorants nesting on nearby Gull island.
The small stream which flows under the bridge is currently cut off from the sea by a huge mound of pebbles. There was a clear channel here in recent times out to the shore.
Note - there is no need to access the cliffs or enter the adjacent field to find this cache. There is plenty of space for parking at the bottom of the hill.
The cache is a small plastic canister. BYOP.
