Geocache Description:

Coastal valley near Annestown, County Waterford.

The Anne River flows through the valley and enters the sea at Annestown on the County Waterford coast. Annestown is a small pretty village with almost no commercial activity. It does not even have a pub. Further up the valley, the ruin of Dunhill Castle can be seen on a rocky outcrop. There are good views of the valley and the coastline from there.

The valley is the subject of an on-going constructed-wetlands project which includes many of the farmers along the river in the regeneration of the valley and cleaning the water which flows into the sea.

I have given two suggested parking areas (in the Additional Waypoints) because one of the roads entering the valley is currently blocked to vehicles due to road subsidence. The cache is a small round camouflaged tupperware box. BYOP.
