Usciti da Villa Ada sulla via Salaria andare a sinistra verso le catacombe.
La catacomba di Priscilla, conosciuta in tutti i documenti topografici e liturgici antichi, si apre sulla via Salaria con ingresso presso il monastero delle Suore Benedettine di Priscilla. Per la sepoltura di numerosi martiri questa catacomba era denominata nell'antichità "la Regina delle catacombe".
Il cimitero, scavato tra il II e il V secolo, inizia da tre nuclei originariamente indipendenti e separati tra loro, dei quali i principali sono: un arenario, il criptoportico di una villa e l'ipogeo a carattere familiare degli Acilii Glabrioni.
Exit from Villa Ada , and on Via Salaria go left till The Catacombs.
The "Catacombe di Priscilla" can be found on the Via Salaria close to "Villa Ada" park. There are seven popes buried here, victims of emperor Diocleziano’s persecutions, along with various saints and three hundred presumed martyrs. The catacombs extend along two levels and Benedictine nuns act as tour guides. The older, upper level dates from the 3rd Century - a date confirmed by the stamps on the building, which are from the Caracalla era. In the vaults of the gallery of sarcophagi, a famous painting depicting Mary with the Baby and the prophet Isaia, are dated from the 3rd Century.
