The listing co-ordinates are for the suggested (free) parking for this cache which, needless to say, has nothing whatsoever to do with Shirley Temple! For alternative free parking, look for the "Shirley Shoppers" signs.

The cache involves a walk along Shirley High Road (aka Stratford Road or A34) and ends up in Shirley Park which has much to recommend it including a kids’ playpark, skate park and basketball, tennis courts, putting greens and rugby and football pitches. Solihull Council proudly declares that it has been awarded “Green Flag” status. For more details see Solihull Council’s webpage.

Regrettably, the Council has recently approved a large retail and housing development called “Park Gate” which will swallow up the North Eastern part of the park. The centre piece of the development will be a new supermarket – this in an area already saturated with supermarkets – what folly!

The cache is at N52 24.UVW W001 49.XYZ and has three stages to complete before heading off to the final location. You can do them in any order you like.

STAGE 1

Go to N52 24.851 W001 49.703. Locate the burglar alarm on this building and complete the phone number on it thus: 0AB1 CD4 7244.

STAGE 2

Go to N52 24.650 W001 49.566. Looking at this building from the pavement, there is a bench to the right of the door. There are E slats in the backrest of the bench.

STAGE 3

Go to N52 24.661 W001 49.654. There are F bike stands outside this building.

It is then a short walk to the cache itself. All but the last few metres are on paths.
