Hike is along the Olympic Discovery Trail starting at the Hwy 112 Trailhead. The cache is a camo snap lock container.
The Adventure Route segment is intended for use by horsemen, mountain bicyclists, and hikers. "THE PORTION OF THE TRAIL THAT THIS CACHE TAKES YOU ON IS SHORT AND EASY."
"IF" you choose to CONTINUE on the trail it is a physically challenging route that uses a combination of 3 foot wide trail and DNR gravel roads. The total length is 24 miles from SR 112 to Lake Cresent. There are no services and the trail route becomes quite isolated. BE PREPARED WITH WATER, FOOD AND ALL THE TOOLS YOU NEED TO REPAIR A BICYCLE TIRE OR CHAIN. You will be passing through Cougar habitat, so it is advisable to carry pepper spray or travel in groups.
Please bring something to trade as our caches have been emptying out quickly. We always place a coin or TB and lots of loot for the FTF to choose from. Enjoy this short hike.
