Meow. I'm Katie, the surrogate mother of Peewee, just down the road. It's lucky I was around when she needed me. We became best friends. Like most cats, I'm good at hiding.
I had a wonderful life with Woomer.
Katie belonged to my neighbors in Portland, TX. They didn't take care of her so she migrated to me. She soon gave birth to a litter of kitten- at the same time as Peewee was born to Butterball. Butterball had been rattlesnake bit while she was carrying her litter. She gave birth at the vets in Beeville, TX. Due to the snake bite, all of her litter, except Peewee didn't make it. Peewee was struggling for life when Katie shows up with a warm nipple and that turned the corner for Peewee. I remember asking the vet if a mother cat would feed a stray and he said; "Sure, cats can't count." They became inseparable mother and daughter for long, happy lives.
