When back in 1874, the railway from Pétange to Ettelbruck was built, the "Kaasselbierg" stood in the way.
It was decided to cut it off on the southeastern side.
Round stones and a stone axe were found. These were the remains of a castle ("Kastell") with three protection walls built around AD 290 and destroyed around AD 450.
The legend says that a golden cradle is hidden in the well...
The railway stopped running in 1969; the castle was destroyed in 450 and only the trenches, the well and the legend remain.
Logs in English please.
