About the film:
PICNIC, made in 1955, is an excellent film adaptation of the William Inge play. The story revolves around a handsome drifter (played by William Holden) who stops over in a small town to visit an old fraternity buddy on the day of a big Labor day picnic. Emotions ignite when his buddy’s girlfriend, the town beauty queen, starts to fall for him. The beauty queen is played by the alluring Kim Novak. Rosalind Russell and Arthur O’Connell almost steal the movie in their supporting roles.
About the Cache:
This is our twenty-sixth movie-themed cache. After hiding a lot of micros, we thought it might be time to hide another large one for the kids to find. We chose this location because it reminded us of the setting for the movie PICNIC and because well…what could be better than a nice picnic and a treasure hunt? The park has a small playground and of course, picnic tables. You are looking for a medium size , cammoed weather proof box filled with small toys for the kiddies. P.S. -There's no need for bush-whacking if you go around that big obstacle and check your coords on the other side. As of 7/19/20- the container is now a plastic Ammo Can. Happy hunting!
