Geocache Description:




I grew up in Kenilworth, and I recall playing in this area a lot when I was a kid. It's not far from where my best friend at the time lived, so it was a convenient hangout for us when we weren't otherwise getting into trouble. I would imagine that this used to be a nice gathering place for residents of Kenilworth back in the town's heyday. There used to be tennis courts just west of the fireplace, but they were in poor (unusable) shape 25 years ago when I lived in town, and the county recently bulldozed the area so the only remaining trace is the unusually flat spot left behind.
