Geocache Description:

The co-ordinates will take you to the start of the 'Sacred Dreaming Path' which gives some little known facts about the local indigenous Bibbullmun Nation. The plaque here will give you some background and there'll be more detail at the 'four totems' further along the path. The cache is totally accessible by wheelchair.

You will need to have the following information (plus some simple arithmetic) to calculate the final co-ordinates of the cache itself:-

1a) How many 'Silent Sentries' representing freshwater lakes?

..............

2a) Which main totemic group would you need to belong to if you wish to marry someone from the NAAGARRUUK tribe?

.........................................................................................

2b) No. of letters in this group name? ............

3a) Which main totemic group are you allowed to marry into if you belong to the TONDARRIIK totemic skin group?

.........................................................................................

3b) Name of the bird representing this group?

"Sacred ........................".

3c) No. of letters in this bird name (excluding Sacred)?

...........

4a) What other totemic skin group can also marry into this main group?

.........................................................................................

4b) No. of letters in this name? .............

Don't worry, all this will become clear once you are there. (Trust us, we're GeoCachers!)

The cache co-ordinates will be:-

S: 31:57. X

E: 115:52. Y

Where:-

X = (1a x 2b) + (2b x 4b) + 3c)

Y = (1a x 2b x 4b) + 2b

+ ( ( 1a + 3c ) x (2b + 3c ) )

The original cache was muggled in August 2008 and a replacement was likely to go the same way so we had to rethink the location. Whereas the old directions led you away to a peaceful retreat, the new position is very close and you'll probably think, "why did we have to do all that calculation just to get here!" You are now looking for a magnetic key container containing only pencils and a log sheet. The new hiding place is totally exposed so you will need to choose your moment to grab/replace the cache - or create some diversion, subterfuge or other geocaching antic. Please make sure the cache is not left visible.

BONUS EXTRA - Two for the price of one! The original GZ was at a pleasant relaxing area away from the heat and the crowds. It is still worth retreating here after the find (or, perish the thought, as compensation if you don't find the cache). The Waypoint below shows the co-ordinates. No cache to search for anymore, but there's an interesting seating arrangement, drinking fountain and a variety of small bronze castings to contemplate. Sadly, some have disappeared - a frill necked lizard and an AFL football but it's still fascinating. Don't leave without seeing the bird in it's nest. We didn't spot this one until a resident pointed it out. He also told us that the area has been tested and has 'the best oxygen in Perth'! When you see the trees you can believe it. The streetscape looking to the east is one of the most attractive we've seen. Take your camera.

(P.S. Whilst you're here, why not tackle our other cache "The Impossible Triangle", just beyond the top of the cove and through the underpass.)
