Knitsley is a hamlet in County Durham, in England. It is situated a short distance to the south of the town of Consett. Local attractions include a pub and a small post box. A telephone box once existed at the end of Hownsgill drive but this was removed many years ago due to lack of use. A railway station existed until 1964 when cutbacks in the railway system damatically reduced rail survices in Britain.
A short but very nice walk along the Lanchester Valley Walk, with some really nice views from the cache area.
There are no suitable/safe parking spaces close to the start of the walk, and there is a sign asking people not to park on the grass, you will have to park in the housing estate above and walk down to the public footpath.
Have fun!
Watch out for Co. Durham A-Z......L=??? coming soon
