Geocache Description:

Chelan became a city in 1902. This park was chosen as a way to remember the city’s beginnings. It is dedicated to RUTH PINGREY, a beloved and long-time local school teacher. She delighted children in our city especially at Christmas as Grandma Claus.

The Chelan Rotary, through community member involvement, was instrumental in the beautiful landscaping. Nearly every item in the park was given in goodwill by businesses and local citizens.

This is also a pet-friendly park with a special drinking fountain at foot level for them. However, this is true only between Labor Day and Memorial Day as it is closed to dogs in the summer.

COME ENOY THE PICNIC TABLES AND THE LAWN, COMPLETE WITH A PANORAMIC VIEW OF LAKE CHELAN !

This Lock N Lock small cache box has a log, pen, jumping rabbits and a bobber.

Mrs. Pingrey (to whom the park is dedicated) lived just across the road from the park in the white apartments. We feel honored to have known her.
