Suggested (free) parking is in the main car park at the co-ordinates below, which is accessed via the road alongside the New Inn pub in Shalfleet:
N50° 42.218 W001° 24.855
On leaving the car park, turn left along the path and after around 80 yards you will see that the paths split. Take the path which forks to the right - along Mill Road - which will take you past the mill and over the wooden bridge and the cache is just a short walk away.
The route is on hard ground, but patches of the path near the creek can be a little muddy in wet weather - pushchairs should be ok in dry weather though.
The cache container has now (30/05/08) been increased to a more standard-sized container, which should be much easier to find in its hiding place and has plenty of room for swaps, TBs and coins. Tree cover can cause some GPS inaccuracy, but hopefully the clue will aid you if required.
As mentioned above, the path splits 80 yards from the car park.
The other (straight on) path is on Natural Trust land and leads you down to Shalfleet Quay - worth a visit if you have time to spare after finding the cache and fancy a slightly longer walk (a half mile walk to the Quay). A great place for spotting the local wildlife and birds.
Many thanks to Richard and Ann who will help maintain the cache on the occasions that we're not on the Island.
