Geocache Description:

This easy, traditional cache pays homage to the former national home of the CBC in the Edward Drake building on the north side of Heron Road between Bronson and Riverside. [The building can be seen from the cache location, the latter of which is located a short distance from Data Centre Road and from the Heron Transit Station (Route 107)].

The building at 1500 Bronson Avenue is an excellent example of Modernist architecture and is a Federal heritage building. It was designed in the early 1960s by the Chief Architect of the CBC, David McKinstry. [The CBC Ottawa Broadcast Centre is now located in downtown Ottawa at 181 Queen Street and is the home of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s head office and radio and television staff responsible for the National Capital Region.]

The cache housed in a small (12 cm x 8 cm x 7 cm) camouflaged Lock and Lock® container had the following items in it when it was placed: -a log book and 2 sharp pencils: -1 First-to-Find pin -3 “Found it!” pins -a package of CBC stickers {Please take one sticker per cacher.} -Sandman Travel Bug.

There is parking close by and on the weekend the lot is empty. Please return the cache to its original location, ensuring it is well camouflaged.

Please do not include spoilers in your logs; logs with spoilers will be deleted. Notify me privately if there are any problems with the cache.
