Geocache Description:

The island

Ayia Napa is one village with the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean Sea. The turquoise clear waters and golden sands of its beaches attract visitors to an unforgettable holiday. Some of these beaches are Nissi Beach, Nissi Bay and Sandy Bay. There are all necessary facilities and many water sports at most of these beaches during summer time.

The southwest coast of the non-occupied area of Cyprus is considered paradise due to its fascinating beaches. The sands are silvery velvet and cover the area which is the main attraction to visitors. Travelling from west to east one comes across many beaches.

This, “The island” cache is hidden in the most famous place which is only three kilometres west of Ayia Napa. These closely connected twin beaches attract thousands of tourists every year. The name of the bay, Nissi, which in Greek means a small island, gives a new dimension to the beauty of the landscape. It is well sheltered from the winds, which facilitate all sea sports during summer time. There are also cafeterias, pubs, and restaurants in the area.

Take a pen or pencil with you to log in please since it’s a micro cache and contains only a micro log sheet and a FTF micro certificate.

We hope you will enjoy it.

NOTE: If you plan to visit the place during summer, prepare yourself to spend some hours there since it is very crowded. Best times are in the afternoon where people are leaving the beach.
Also a towel, shorts or swim wear are compulsory even though there is no need for a swim.
