The Flats Traditional Cache

This area is known as the Clariville Flats for the obvious reason.
Believe it or not years ago there was a small town here. It was home for some of the logging and railroad workers. Not a trace of it can be found today. This spot is also known locally as the tunnel 36 turn off. It used to lead to a great fishing spot on the Feather River but it’s not accessible anymore. For some unknown reason the Union Pacific railroad as blocked off access to the river. The road is fine for any vehicle and accessible from the east or west.
