Also know as Bay Furnace Light or Grand Island Harbor Range Light. This light was first lit in August of 1868. This a rear range light. Originally, the rear light was positioned on a short tower on top of a wood-frame keeper's dwelling. In 1914 the structure was rebuilt. Of interest to lighthouse buffs, the original structure is a private residence located at 701 Superior Street in Munising, having been moved there in 1920. By the late 1930's, the Fresnel lens was removed and replaced by 350millimeter glass lens.
