Le Château de la Bruyère


La commune de la Bruyère doit son nom au lieu-dit situé au centre géographique de la Commune. On y trouve une ferme, dite de La Bruyère. The municipality of La Bruyère owes its name from a farm located on the geographical center of his territories.
Cette ferme est un ancien bien de l'Ordre des Templiers, qui lui appartenait en 1241. Début XIXème, Jean-Baptiste Buiron, un royaliste français, né à Epernay, émigre en Belgique et achète La Bruyère. C'est çà proximité qu'il fit construire en 1822 le château actuel entouré d'un jardin. In 1241, the Order of Templars established a settlement at this place, who was in 1241. Later, in the beginning of the XIX centuryn Jean-Baptiste Buiron, a French royalist, born in Epernay, emigrated to Belgium and buys La Bruyère. In 1822, he built in the proximity of the Farm the the present castle surrounded by a garden.

Cette cache fait partie d'une série consacrée aux sentiers de La Bruyère. Patrimoine exceptionnels, ceux-ci tendent à disparaître du fait de l'urbanisation, expropriation abusive ou simplement l'invasion de la nature. En parcourant ses sentiers dans le cadre du geocaching, vous contribuerez à perpétuer ces sentiers et chemins publics. This cache is part of a series devoted to trails of La Bruyère. The paths & trails tend to disappear due to urbanization, expropriation or simple invasion from Mother Nature. Going along trails as part of geocaching will help to perpetuate these public trails.


Finalement, pour les personnes aimant marcher, les caches de la série peuvent être combinées en une seule balade. Départ au Le Ponceau du Seumoy, puis La Mehaigne et finalement Le Château de la Bruyère, avant de revenir à votre véhicule via le Ponceau.

Finally, for people who enjoy walking, all caches from the serie can be done in a single hike. Start with Le Ponceau du Seumoy, continue with La Mehaigne and then Le Château de la Bruyère and back to your car via Le Ponceau .
