There are historical sites in the area. Anglo-Boer War – a total distance of approximately 30 km.
1. The Vredefort Road Consentration Camp Churchyard;
2. The Battle of Renoster River Bridge;
3. The Battle of Roodewal.
An observation of the number of the dead gives a good indication of the course of the Anglo-Boer War. The (almost) complete account may be found at: (visit link) .
One of the important aspects concealed by historians, is the extent and contents of the wage coffers of the British force, which were seized by Genl. de Wet during the Battle of Roodewal. Only the odd £ 5099 postal order booty is mentioned and only by a few.

If you want to vissit these sites:
1. Your start off at S27.09.140 E 27.39.177.
At these coordinates you will meet some of the Boers of the Anglo-Boer War. While lingering here, pay attention to the number of Grade 1's (the seven year olds). Write down the number of children that should have been attending class.
Thereafter, walk to the South and look for Johanna CE Els (a maiden Steyn). As soon as you have found Miss Els, write down her year of birth.
While standing in front of her, look over her shoulder, and see the rows.
As many kids as in the class, as many rows to the front you go.
Take the sum of Miss Els's year of birth.
As many as the sum of her year of birth, as many souls to the right in that row will take you to the site.
There at ground level, you will find the coordinates taking you to the next clue.
2. Take the road to the coordinates you found above, via route S27.14.875, E27.33.221. The other route has been closed down. Here you will meet some of the English of the Anglo-Boer War. (Take note that during the rain season, this road may be accessible by 4x4 only).
Shake hands with Private Marshall. His cross stands out above the horison. On his back you will find the directions to the TD IX Treasure. Drive back with the same route and find the coordinates.
3. You now find yourself at the place where the Queen of England suffered her single most immense financial defeat by the hands of Genl. de Wet. If you wish to find the seized wage coffers filled with British coins, this is the place to start.

In die area is drie geskiedkundige plekke uit die Anglo-Boereoorlog ('n afstand van ongeveer 30 km word gedek):
1. Die Vredefortweg Konsentrasiekampkerkhof
2. Die Slag van Renosterrivierbrug
3. Die Slag van Roodewal.

Een baie belangrike aspek wat deur historici verswyg word, is die omvang en inhoud van die Loonkoffers van die Britse magte, wat ook tydens hierdie Slag deur Genl de Wet gebuit is. Slegs verbygaande vermelding van die £ 5099 posorderbuit word gemaak, en ook nie deur almal nie.

As jy die die gedenktekens wil besoek:
1. Die wegspringplek is S27.09.140 E 27.39.177.
By hierdie koördinate ontmoet jy van die Boere van die Anglo-Boereoorlog. Terwyl jy daar rondstaan, let op die aantal Graad 1'tjies (dit is nou die klompie van sewe jaar oud). Skryf neer hoeveel kinders daar in die klas sou wees.
Stap nou na die Suidekant en soek Johanna Els ('n nooi Steyn). Sodra jy Juffrou Els gevind het, kyk in watter jaar sy gebore is. Skryf dit neer.
Kyk nou oor Johanna CE Els se skouer, en sien die rye lê.
Soveel kinders soos in die klas, soveel rye stap jy aan, reguit vorentoe.
Maak nou die som van Juffrou Els se geboortejaar.
Soveel as die som van haar geboortejaar, soveel siele in daardie ry moet jy na regs verklaar. Daar, regs onder, sal jy die koördinate vind wat jou sal neem na jou volgende leidraad.
2. Volg die pad na die koördinate wat jy hierbo gevind het, via roete S27.14.875, E27.33.221. Die ander roete is gesluit. Ontmoet hier van die Engelse van die Anglo-Boereoorlog. (Let wel, gedurende die reënseisoen kan hierdie paadjie moeilik begaanbaar raak.)
Skud hier Private Marshall se hand. Sy kruis troon uit in die suide bo die horison. Op Private Marshall se rugkant sal jy jou padaanwysings vind na die TD IX Skat. Ry met dieselfde pad terug en vind dan die koördinate.
3. Hier is jy nou op die plek waar Genl C.R. de Wet aan die Koningin van Engeland haar grootste enkele finansiële nederlaag toegedien het. As jy wil soek na die gebuite Loonkoffers vol Britse Ponde, is hierdie die plek vanwaar jy moet begin.
