Geocache Description:

Easy hike along level ground and through an open woods. Cache just off hiking trail. The container is an small plastic container. Mosquitos & ticks may be present.

Archaeologists have not uncovered any type of written material at this prehistoric Indian city. If anything was written on animal hides or wood it would have not survived in the soil over 1000 years. Images of people and animals have been found on stone and shell. A trade network existed along the Mississippi River from Wisconsin to the Gulf Coast. Ideas and trade items could travel this network from village to village.

The vines that are found here could have been used by the prehistoric people of this area as lashings for house and wall construction.

This geocache is placed on Historic Preservation Agency managed property with permission. Do not place the following items in the Geocache: food items, inappropriate, offensive, or hazardous materials.
