This multi-cache is located at Indian Falls Conservation Area where a beautiful park, hiking trail and view of Indian Falls may be found. The falls are named after the Newash Indian tribe who lived in this area at one time. The coordinates listed above will give you the location of an interpretive plaque by the Niagara Escarpment Commission; parking is at the same location. You need to use the information from this plaque to determine the final cache.
To find the treasure cache you must calculate the coordinates from the following instructions.
Determine the vertical dip in meters of the exposed Niagara Escarpment strata here at this location compared to that at the Meaford Tank Range which is 22.5 km. to the east. Divide this difference by 1000 and add the answer to each coordinate listed below. This is the location of the final cache.
N 44 ° 37 .128
W 080 ° 56 .940
Helpful Hint:
If treasure you will seek,
Then steps you must take-
Just remember to rest,
It’s always best,
Before you turn for the crest.
NB. No bushwhacking required, cache on trail, stay on trail, enjoy the falls. Area can be busy so use discretion.
