This cache was inspired by a cache we found in Bowie, Texas. Container and FTF prize (Texas bandana) provided by rafterj, owner of that Bowie cache. It is not necessery to walk into the yard to obtain this cache--but if you're invited or ask, you might get a tour of the flower gardens!
This cache is located less than half a mile off of Historic Route 66. The corner of Rt. 66 and Madrid used to be the home of The Bluebird Tavern, and also considered to be the "top of the Ozarks." Many famous landmarks are on the Waynesville-Joplin stretch of 66, such as the Munger Moss Motel, Wrinks Market and many more.
The cache is located in booklover's grandma/SCRN1981's Mom's yard. While there look to the windows and wave hello! Don't be scared if Grandpa comes out to chat with you about this "geocaching thing" or that "machine that tells you where you are and what you're doin'". Grandma might even tell stories about the neighborhood or SCRN's growin' up years. She could even recall going to Wrink's market and meeting him and how he always dyed his hair red.
