HIRUNDO – GEOCACHE #1 LETTERBOX HYBRID - BLUE BLAZES
With the gracious permission of the Trustees and caretakers of Hirundo, I have been allowed to place geocaches on the land. The future of this program lies with, you, the cachers. Please, please, read the whole page and follow the rules described. Staff of the refuge would be more than happy to assist. There are some very simple and basic rules, which must be followed or the future of access for Geocaching purposes on this beautiful land will be jeopardized.
Refuge and Trust Rules
1. Preferrably Enter trails and park at Gate 1 or 3 only! The exception being if Gate one is open you may drive in to parking near the Lac D'Or cache.
2. Day use 365 days a year – dawn to dusk (yes, their trails are open for snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the winter).
3. Sign in! There is also a donation container but you are under no obligation.
4. Absolutely NO dogs or pets.
5. NO bicycles or motor driven vehicles.
6. NO smoking or fires.
7. No digging or picking of flowers or rocks.
8. Please stay on the trails except to retrieve caches which will not be far off a trail – and placed in areas approved by staff.
9. CITO and Carry In – Carry Out
Geocache – Letterbox Hybrid
After registering, on the trail log ~ take a trail map and head for the blue trail. Follow your GPSr and you should find your goal.
The cache is an ammo box which contains swag; the usual log book; a smiley stamp (commercial) and pad ~ please leave this in the cache. Please feel free to stamp up. Swap even or swap up whenever possible.
Please feel free to not stop after finding the cache. Enjoy the trails, bring a lunch (carry in ~ carry out) and look for creatures big or small. Hirundo staff and trustees hope you enjoy their refuge and look forward to a continued relationship with more caches in the future.
Congratulations - CacheMaine - on the FTF!
