Geocache Description:




The Old Country Store, located in Lorman, Miss., has been around since 1875. For over 100 years, it served as a general store and was the place where people brought cotton and other products to sell and made all their household purchases from staples like sugar and coffee to work boots and overalls. It was a major center of commerce for Claiborne and Jefferson counties for many years.

Today, the facility is owned and maintained by Arthur Davis - better known as "Mr. D" who, by his own admittance, came to Lorman on a visit from his Florida home and never left.

This is a fairly easy cache and has been placed with owner's permission. Couldn't resist planting a cache here after a good lunch and fun trip in the wayback machine.

So stop by sometime and relive the past - you'll be glad you did.
