Beautiful Gardens with a mix of gravel, stone and timber boardwalks. Not particularly wheelchair friendly but plenty of open areas for the kids to play and run.
Located in one of the most beautiful places in Cairns. The Flecker Botanic Gardens.
Entry is free. Gates are open from 7:30am till 5:30pm.
A plaque inside the garden reads"In 1887. Eugene Fitzalan, A Gardener and Plant collector began a thriving Tropical Plant Business and Botanical Garden with the help and encouragement of the then Cairns (town) Council. That was the foundation of the Flecker Botanic Gardens which remain today the only such gardens in the Wet Tropics of Australia."
We would suggest you allow at least an hour or two and wander through the whole gardens before attempting the Cache. If you don't you will miss out on an enjoyable experience. Take the kids, they will enjoy the fantastic Tropical plants and meandering pathways. There is a Café in the gardens that makes a nice place to stop and relax.
You won't need to walk on or over any plants to find this cache, so please don't leave the pathways.
