Geocache Description:

Using GSAK

This is the first of what I hope will be a series of practical usage of GSAK events. It is not intended that these events will dwell on macro programming, but focus more on installing and implementing existing macros, creating filters, managing your database(s), using locations, etc.

The first event will be held on Tuesday, 27 May 2008 commencing at 6.30pm at the above listed co-ordinates. I envisage the event concluding around 9.30pm.

The venue is a house which has been converted into offices with a small community centre. Parking is available in Struan Avenue. Please DO NOT use the off street car park - this is for tenants cars only!

Please enter via the side gate at the rear of the venue and enter through the rear door.

The venue has ample seating for 10 cachers. If more than 10 cachers register their intent to attend, only the first 10 will be able to attend.

The second event will be held on Thursday, 29 May 2008 commencing at 6.30pm at the above listed co-ordinates.

Whether you are a novice or expert GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife) user, this event is for you. When regisetring your intent to attend, please rate your GSAK expertise from 1 to 5, with 1 being an absolute novice and 5 being an expert user together with some idea as to what you would like covered.

The format will be very informal. Each participant will have 10 minutes or so to demonstrate how they use GSAK, or, request assistance in using GSAK. Other participants will take note of what they want to implement in their use of GSAK, or, offer appropriate assistance to participants seeking help.

If anyone has a laptop projector that they wouldn't mind providing for the event, could you please email me. If not, we will have to use the old fashioned white board, pen and paper. Please bring your own laptop, pen/pencil/paper to take notes. WIFI maybe available.

Tea, coffee and milk is available for a small gold coin donation. Please bring something for a supper break around 8.00pm.

Please feel free to contact me via my profile with any questions that you may have prior to the event.

Download GSAK

You can download GSAK from the GSAK web site. You can use it for 21 days before you get a nag notice. To remove the nag notice and become a registered GSAK user will cost US$25.00.
