The “Tour de Matchedash” Series is an 8 cache
series placed to showcase the beauty and solitude of the Matchedash
Lake, Upper Eastern Lake and Lower Eastern Lake areas of the
Matchedash Barrens.
It Begins...
After a substantial 20 to 30 minute portage you will want to
rest for a bit and explore the area arround the West end of Long
(or Matchedash) Lake. The cache is a Medium size ammo can
placed a short distance from a stream and waterfall that exits Long
Lake. Take the time to have a look at the stream and enjoy
the sound of its movement over the rocks.
This area is popular with sportsmen and likely contains a
hundred or so boats spread out along a couple Km of the
shoreline. When we placed the caches there was a
Jeep that had towed a trailer all the way in. We would
not want to try it.
