The “Tour de Matchedash” Series is an 8 cache
series placed to showcase the beauty and solitude of the Matchedash
Lake, Upper Eastern Lake and Lower Eastern Lake areas of the
Matchedash Barrens.
Pining Away on Upper
Eastern...
Because we ended up going the "back way" to
the next stop we found that the logical place to put a cache was
here. This spot was near a neat little beaver dam that would
be the second one we had to pull the canoe over. If you go
another way (the logical way) you will likely find easier paddleing
but you will have a long carry over into Upper Eastern
Lake; follow us if you wish.
The wind really started to wear us down from this point
on. We were unable to make much progress into the 30K steady
headwinds. I was looking forward to the next stop.
