Original Descriptions: A nice west coast beach. Officially called Palmerston Recreation site, but locals refer to it as 3 Minute Beach because it is such a short walk from the road to the beach. SEE UP-DATE!!!
Up-date Spring 2021: The cache used to be easy to get to but storms have taken out the bridge over the creek so now you can only get to the cache by crossing the creek on foot. The only way to do this is to take the new path that has been cut through the bush just before the creek, and follow it to the beach. You can then cross the creek where it spreads out across the beach at lower tides. Depending on how much water is flowing, you can cross the creek by hopping from rock to rock, or just wading across if you have boots. Follow the beach to the west (to the right). The cache is at a location between this beach and an adjoining cove (where you can experience fantastic tidal pools.) The cache is a small white bucket (above the tide-line, of course). No rock-climbing required. DO NOT attempt to cross the creek if it is too dangerous. We will replace (or add another) cache to the near side of the creek next time we are out this way so that people aren't tempted to cross the creek if it isn't safe that day. If you've made it out all the way to the beach, log this cache as found even if you didn't actually get across the creek to the original cache spot. And please bring a trash bag and collect a few of the plastic bottles that always wash up on this beach.
